How : Lets forget about the complication and work on numbers. This puzzles simply says 1.5 chickens lay 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days.

Since we need to know the number of eggs in one days. Same statement can be written as

1.5 chickens lay 1 egg in 1 day (1.5 eggs in 1.5 days so obviously it would be 1 egg in 1 day)

1.5 chickens = 1 egg (in one day)

multiply it by 10 (just to remove the decimal points, otherwise its not required )

15 chickens = 10 eggs (in one day)

so now

1 Chicken = 10/15 eggs (in one day)

That also means

1 Chicken = 2/3 egg (in one day)
